The Belltower Concert House & Event Venue: 0 miles, $8-18

The Belltower is a concert venue birthed from the ashes of a run-down church that is spearheading a musical revival in Pullman. Its location on downtown Pullman's Main Street is just a short (and thankfully downhill) walk from campus and even closer to the bulk of Pullman's residential areas.

What will I see at the Belltower?
Part of what makes the Belltower so special, is the diversity of musical talent it brings to the area. Small local bands seem to get the majority of the stage time, which has helped to cultivate the burgeoning musical scene in Pullman. However, that hasn't stopped the Belltower from bringing in some heavy-hitters in the musical world. Notable Belltower alums include the alt-rock group STRFKR and the hip-hop duo, the Blue Scholars. Both bands have played the Belltower within the last six months.
What should I bring?
Friends are a must for belltower events. Make sure you show up early though, as seating is extremely sparse. If you don't mind standing though, there's plenty of space. Also, remember to bring a few extra bucks for snacks and beverages, which are reasonably priced but take a while to get due to the long lines. The venue features a full bar, so come prepared to have a good time.
How much are tickets?
Ticket prices vary with each concert, but are generally well-priced. The Blue Scholars were $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Most lesser-known acts hover between $8-10.

The Dahmen Barn - 17.2 miles, $0

Just inside the city limits of a sleepy farming town, Uniontown, Wash., an iconic barn hosts more than just architecture.
The Dahmen Barn is run by a non-profit, whose motive is to bring and sustain art on the Palouse. The former dairy barn has been converted to a place where artists can meet, create and sell their pieces.
“(The barn is) a place for local artists and fine craftspeople to sell their work on consignment, a venue for local performing and exhibiting artists, and creative experiences for children and adults through classes and workshops,” the Barn’s website says.
The barn hosts four major events each year; one for each season. It also features numerous visual and performing arts each month.
Its newest exhibit, which opens Nov. 3, features oil paintings by two Moscow, Idaho artists.
A reception will be held Sunday, November 6 from 1-3 p.m. Both featured artists, Aaron Johnson and Leonard A. Heid will be present.
“Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is on highway 195 in the big white barn behind the famous iron wheel fence.  The non-profit creativity center is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.  There is no daily admission fee and the facility is fully handicap accessible.

Moscow Arts Department: Third Street Gallery

For those interested in art, Moscow, Idaho is a hotbed of artistic activity on the Palouse. Located in the heart of Moscow's city center, and less than a 15 minute drive from Pullman, the gallery is a quick and accessible diversion from more mundane fall activities.

Where will I see at the gallery?
The current exhibit, which runs through November, 25, is a collection of paintings from the City of Moscow's Palouse Plein Air competition.

What is Plein Air?
